You know we almost always seem to bugger up the ATP writeups... whatever, this is the belated Sunday comedown writeup. Swimming first, yeah.. swimming. Probably not the best of ideas for me, seeing as my swimming skills leave so much to be desired. Still whatever, hangover semi-cured and a lot of chlorine in my stomach and a Sunday roast later its time for some music. First up was Bernard Parmegiani 5.1 surround speakers and the quietest Crazy Horse ever. What felt like 10 hours of being passed out on the carpet to the strangest and most unique artist of the weekend later, and a standing ovation to the man, and then a OMG MIKE PATTON IS STANDING NEXT TO ME fanboy moment (he has smooth hands...) and I'm off beer in hand.
Upstairs in Centre Stage and Leila is having big sound troubles... whatever, it was loud and a ton of guest singers, shame about the sound problems.
Farmers Market confused us next with their odd blend of klezmar circuit folk music... great for 15 minutes, then it kind of wore thin. More beer and back up to see the ever odd Butthole Surfers. Different set and an angry sounding singer winging about people. Apparently he got kicked out by security later on.
Then it was the dilemma... Fantômas again or Monotonix. Screw it, monotonix would probably be entertaining for about 10 minutes. So Fantômas again, same set, still awesome. This time less bruised. And a timely encore of Al Green's Simply Beautiful). Nice.
More mastodon for 10 minutes and I'm drunk and dancing to Dälek in an incredibly packed out Reds, this is heavy. And now I'm back upstairs getting crushed by Melvins and their Big Business assisted lineup.
More beer and its actually shockingly good down in Reds where ex Sugercubes man .. is slaying everyone with some incredibly dodgy beats and Mark E Smith like vocals as Ghostdigital. Random but highly entertaining. And... the rest is a bit of a blur, I know I didn't really see anything else. Though I do think I did things I shouldn't have... and I quite probably missed some of the best bits of the weekend... but whatever. Its a long long way back tomorrow... ugh....
